Past, Present & Winner

Past:

Here's my latest knitted item, the Columbia Cowl- available on Ravelry.

I'm very pleased with this pattern. It's a quick, simple knit and I love the finished results. I'm making one for myself after the holidays.

Present:

I'm participating in Friday Night Sew-in. I'll be working on the KS inspired bow sweater. I fell out of love with this project once I had all of my supplies together. The project was shelved until I saw it in a video clip. It is just too lovely not to recreate.

I also have a back up project just in case things don't go so well, or if I finish early. I bought some ivory fleece awhile ago to make a scarflette inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.

Project Photos

Here's another finished cowl sample for gift ideas. It's definitely a winner! I decided to do it in a bulky yarn to save on time. The semester is winding down and Christmas is quickly approaching. I was able to wrap it around my neck once for a close fit. I'm posting the project on Ravelry, user CharityKnits.

ETA:

I had originally wanted to make it 54"l by the original width, but I underestimated the amount of yarn needed for a long tail cast on. After doing a little math, I stuck with the 90 st I was able to squeeze out for a finished length of 45". I stopped at approximately 8" because it felt wide enough. I'm very please with the finished results. I plan to make another using Malabrigo yarn and I plan to follow the directions exactly.

Chunky Snood

Here's my finished version of the Chunky Snood pattern. I found out about this free pattern through Did You Make That?'s blog. I would have made it sooner, but I didn't have the recommended yarn or needles. However, last night I felt like knitting something quick. I decided to make some adjustments to the pattern to accommodate items in my stash. The only other change I made was to knit it in the round instead of sewing up the ends. I think I'm going to have to go yarn shopping so I can make some more family and friends.
